Zinc cells use oxygen as fuel to provide as much energy as possible to your hearing aids.

You can use these batteries in all hearing aids.

Batteries are now 0% mercury (mercury-free batteries):

Before 2015, hearing aid batteries were the last batteries in Europe to contain mercury in their components.

In October 2015, hearing aid batteries became more environmentally friendly (and recyclable).

They've caught up to standard batteries and are now mercury-free.

Distributors are prohibited by law from importing mercury-containing batteries into Europe.

Regarding changes:

The shift to mercury-free battery manufacturing will require some changes and investments by manufacturers to comply with European legislation.

Manufacturers like Rayovac and Powerone made several versions of 0% mercury batteries before getting the solid, reliable products we sell today. 0% mercury batteries have been the norm since 2016 and manage to deliver the same quality as conventional batteries.

The change has been a huge win for battery manufacturers, who are now producing batteries that are greener, mercury-free and perform at comparable levels. So the law works by improving products and making them recyclable.

how to use:

Why did Audilo and my audiologist advise me to wait 1 minute before inserting the batteries into my hearing aids?

Zinc Air Batteries use complex technology related to the chemical reaction between zinc and elements in the air.

This is why the surface of the battery has holes (to allow air to circulate and activate the battery).

But what happens when the label is removed?

For the first few seconds the battery's voltage rises dramatically when it comes into contact with air, then after about 10 seconds it drops again to almost 0 (this explains why hearing aids detect if you also plug in the battery to some batteries are depleted quickly). After about 30 seconds, the battery voltage will rise again and stabilize for maximum usage time. We recommend that you wait 1 minute before removing the sticker just to be sure.

But what happens when the tab is removed?

During the first seconds, the battery's voltage increases sharply when it comes into contact with the air, then after around 10 seconds, it falls again almost to 0 (which explains why some batteries are detected as depleted by your hearing aid if you insert them to soon). After around 30 seconds, the battery voltage will increase again and stabilize for maximum usage time. We advise you to wait 1 minute before removing the tab, just to be sure.

There is no one battery brand that is more reliable than the others, or that will last twice as long. You may, however, notice some variations depending on your hearing aid, but they won't be significant. If one battery brand was better than another, we would tell you.

Users are sometimes more attached to a certain hearing aid battery brand out of habit, rather than because of their capacity or battery life.
